Employment Opportunities Because our work is dictated by customer needs mostly based on time of the season, Island Lawn & Garden's staff over the years has evolved to be strictly permanent, full time employees. Our season begins in late March and ends in December with occasional winter work as both the weather and our customers may require. Late spring begins our busiest period. Spring clean-ups have been completed, but lawns and weeds are growing vigorously, many bushes require pruning, and as July rolls into August, flowers have come into bloom and require deadheading. The season ends when the last of the leaves and pine needles are off the lawns and the grass is left short for the winter. Aside from our many excellent customer relationships, a returning core of trained, highly competent employees is the company's most important asset.
